Spending and limits

A client never spends Strands on the first call. It quotes the price. You agree. Then it does the work.

Two calls

  1. The client calls the tool without confirm. Helix returns the exact price and spends nothing.
  2. If you agree, the client calls the same tool again with confirm set to true. That call does the work.

This is enforced by Helix, not left to the client’s judgment. helix_quote can also price an action on its own, still without doing it.

A confirmed call carries an idempotency key. If the request is retried, Helix replays the original result instead of billing it twice.

What the quote covers

Hunts, drafts, images, one-pagers, offer rewrites, and LinkedIn enrichment all quote first. LinkedIn enrichment is 6 Strands for each lead it can serve, and only when that lead has a company page.

The current prices for every action are in Plans and costs. The quote you see at the moment of the call is the price that will be charged.

Caps

A connection can have a daily Strand cap, set in Settings under AI connections. Once that connection reaches the cap, further paid calls wait until the next UTC day. The account balance is still the ceiling: a client cannot spend Strands you do not have.

What a client cannot do

There is no tool that sends email. A client can prepare the draft. You send it from Helix, inside the daily cap, from a mailbox you connected.

A client only sees the workspace of the person who connected it. Revoking the connection in Settings cuts that access off immediately.
